Paddle to Seattle: journey through the inside passage

J.J. Kelley and Josh Thomas spent 95 days this past summer completing this journey through the inside passage. The Inside Passage encompasses an enormous chain of islands while maintaining North America’s only rainforest 1,300-miles from Alaska to Northern Washington. Encounters with grizzly bears are not uncommon. The rain can fall for weeks uninterrupted. Rich biodiversity makes room for surreal encounters with unexpected marine life. The film presents interviews from peoples of the region, and a sense of humor provides genuine insights into the experience of two adventurers.

Albatross

The nesting babies are fed bellies-full of plastic by their parents, who soar out over the vast polluted ocean collecting what looks to them like food to bring back to their young. On this diet of human trash, every year tens of thousands of albatross chicks die on Midway from starvation, toxicity, and choking.
